Remember to Plan
A goal without a plan is just a wish.
- Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900 - 1944)
Before you get started, you should spend some time thinking about what you want your website to do and develop some goals regarding what you'd like to achieve with your site.
This will make your site more likely to succeed and probably save you time, money and frustration along the way.
Use the following questions to begin the process.
- What would make the website a success for me?
- Do my competitors have a website? If so what do I like and what don't I like about it?
- Are there websites I like in a related field? What could imitate and what could I do better?
- What are we doing offline that might be better done online?
- Who is my audience (current clients, future clients etc.)?
- Why would my audience visit my site? Why would they visit more than once?
- Does my audience have any disabilities that I need to consider (weak eyesight, colour blindness etc.)?
