How to edit a page

Once you have logged into the "backend" of your website you are then ready to edit your website.

1.  To begin editing your website's pages click on the "page" icon or link on the far left hand side.    The "tree" which results from clicking on the page link represents the pages on your website.

3.  Click on a page's name[for example: articles]. These names are usually the headings for each page.

On a page, content is arranged in "blocks". This is web-speak for using subheadings.

4.  To add new content to a page select the page and click on the "New Content" button.

5.  If you already have content on a page you can add new content in the form of subheadings by clicking on the "add content" button.

6. To make further editing changes to material already written click on theedit icon.

Two of the most common page setups are found in the drop-down menu under type:  These are text and text w/image. Text w/image usually means that you will include photographs or other images.

7.  Choose the one which is most appropriate.  You can always change your mind later.

8.  Once you have chosen the page setup, fill out the header input box which provides a title for your content block.

Your text is added to the box under all the formatting icons found in the row marked text .

9.  If you are copying text from another source it is best to paste it into notepad [program found in accessories], copy it again and then paste it into your text box. This process removes any coding which may conflict with your website.

10.  Alternatively you can type directly into the text box.

11.  When you have completed your editing click on save which is found on the top of each page.
