The Web-Shop

The Web-Shop is NOT a package, it is a function that can be added to a Web-Front, Web-Site, or Custom website.
A Web-Shop has a wide range of uses and can be partly or fully integrated into a website.

A partly integrated Web-Shop

mcWebs primarily uses Paypal to facilitate partly integrated Web-Shops.

A partly integrated system can be used for things as simple as paying a "Course Fee" or for "Making a Donation". Visitors to the site simply select items they wish to purchase, then click on the Paypal link for the Paypal system to collect payment on the behalf of the website owner.

The website Visitor does not need to belong to Paypal to be able to make a credit card transaction and complete the payment.
The owner however, must have a Paypal account for the funds to be collected in.
Paypal also charge a fee to collect the funds on the site owners behalf (as do all Merchants for VISA & MASTERCARD).

A fully integrated Web-Shop

A fully integrated system is typically used for more complex online shopping. Where the site owner is selling a significant number of different items, potentially with differing prices.

Visitors to the site again simply select items they wish to purchase. But instead of leaving the site for payment collection it is completed on secure pages within the site. (mcWebs uses 128bit SSL security - equitable security to that used in the Banking Industry)

This often looks more professional to the average site visitor but it is also significantly more costly to the site owner who needs to have specific Online Trading accounts with their Bank, as well as an Electronic Funds Gateway.

Add a Shopping Cart

A shopping cart can be added when you have more than a couple of items you would like to sell online. A shopping cart is a feature of a Web-Shop and so can be either partly or fully integrated as above.

  1. Partly Integrated - The Visitor completes shopping on the site and goes to Paypal to complete payment.
  2. Fully Integrated - The Visitor completes shopping and payment on the site.
